I may be thinking of the patch panel cue on a mixing board. I thought there was a function that would isolate a channel in the headphones and automatically remove it from the main mix. Am I dreaming or does that function exist in some mixers? However, I use a laptop with headphones with my own personal use of the software - with the 21st party I'll be hoping to use Headphones to preview the next song, with the current song going thru large party speakers.
I understand the PFL button is there for preview, however my "setup" consists of 1 single output for Headphones on the laptop. What else would I need to use the preview function.
USB Soundcard..? My question has to do with PFL and exactly what it's function is. I've read the user guide, I've read most of the forum posts on this subject and I still don't have a clue how it's supposed to work or what it's actual purpose is. Nothing else happens as far as I can tell. With the channel volume set to "0" for Deck B and starting to play it, I hear nothing in my headphones, until I turn on the Cue button for that channel.
But once I've done that, turning PFL off has no discernible effect other than to move the waveform to the "top" for whichever Deck PFL is turned on for.
